What You Know
by admin ~ May 7th, 2016. Filed under: Brandenburg. What you know is important. Scripture again and again speaks of the importance of knowledge. More than one thing to know, the knowledge of God is the most important. Jesus prayed in His intercessory prayer in John 17, John recording in verse 3, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” You have to know this in order to have eternal life. Without this knowledge is the exact opposite, eternal death. Someone might question whether that could be known and Paul answers this in Romans 1:18-19 (but you should read the whole rest of the chapter), “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” Men are without excuse as it relates to the knowledge that could save them, because God has revealed the necessary knowledge to them. You just have to believe that. I believe that. You can’t prove it wrong. My experience tells me that it is true. I’ve talked to a lot of people who didn’t know enough, and they are required to care, and they don’t care. They are not open to listen or get what they need to hear, and they need to. In v. 18 above, it says it is a rebellion problem. They “hold the truth in unrighteousness.”
