gods and God

There are many gods in this world, not actual, but gods of people’s imagination. We can go all the way back to the Babylonian, Canaanite, Hittite, Ammonite, Greek, and Roman gods. Now we have the god of Islam, Buddha, Hinduism, Mormonism, and more. With all of these various gods to choose from, why believe in any God and then why believe in the God of the Bible? The God of the Bible starts with a knowledge that we all already have, because we know that He is God. He made us. He created us in His image and then gave us the knowledge of Him. All of us already had that in that God has written His law in our hearts, fashioned us with that God knowledge. The way He created us is with the capacity to believe. And we can believe by His grace, with His enablement, with what He has given us to believe, His revelation of Himself. The only verifiable and logical God is the God of the Bible, Who is the God of Christianity, Who is the only God. We already know Him through His general revelation in creation and then through His providence in history and in our own conscience. But then He adds to that His special revelation, the Word of God, with its fulfilled prophecy. And finally we have the incarnate Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. All of these reveal to us Who God is, how we got here, and what our future can and should be.
